From Famous Car Symbols to Custom Car Emblems: What You Need to Know?

Each company requires a brand that its customers can identify with. A brand image or company logo is a visual cue that customers identify a company with. This is why many companies invest so much in company logos and emblems.

Car manufactures also use branding to identify themselves and attract customers to their showrooms. By using car symbols, badges, and emblems, we have become more familiar with most car brands.

So here is what you need to know about the history of some of the most famous car symbols and car emblems.

Toyota

One of the most popular and famous brands worldwide, Toyota's emblem is one of the most renowned of the world's car badges. It includes a letter T that is artistically drawn. The T emblem has three overlapping ovals, which symbolize trust between the customers and the manufacturer.

Mercedes Benz

A product of German ingenuity, Mercedes' emblem draws inspiration from a star symbol on the founder's home Gottlieb Daimler. Daimler's sons choose to use the star emblem to represent his initial goal to conquer the land, air, and sea.The emblem has undergone a lot of changes since then to the now-famous encircled silver star.

Ford

The ford's car symbol consists of the word FORD surrounded by an oval with a blue and white background. The Ford emblem was created in 1909 by Childe Harold Wills. In 1927, the oval was added, and the emblem has remained the same ever since.

Subaru

In Japanese, the word Subaru means-The Pleiades. The Subaru's badge consists of six stars surrounded by an oval. Like other car badges that draw inspiration from different aspects, moments, items, and other things, the Subaru badge draws inspiration from the cluster of stars in Taurus Constellation.

The six stars represent the visible stars to the naked eye; Electra, Celaeno, Asterope, Alcyone, and Maia. The stars also represent the six companies that merged in 1953.

Hyundai

The Hyundai car symbol is represented by an artistic H surrounded by an oval. The Hyundai symbol aims to reflect eternity, which is a vision of the company. The simple meaning of the H in the Hyundai symbol represents the company's name.

Audi

The famous Audi symbol of four silver rings represents the merger of four German companies from Audi. In 1932 four of the oldest car manufacturers, Audi, DKW, Horch, and Wanderer, merged to form the Auto Union, which faded away in 1985.
